International Travel Nurse Recruitment
Our International Travel Nurse Division specialises in recruiting qualified overseas healthcare professionals and supporting them to live and work in the UK.
Many employers view the requirements of IELTS, NMC registration, visa applications, and OSCE examinations as barriers to recruiting international nurses. At Reachout Medical, we have developed a seamless end-to-end solution that simplifies the entire process, enabling successful deployment of international nursing professionals within as little as 4–6 weeks.
Working alongside our Nurses, we support their relocation to the UK and through every stage of their journey, from recruitment and compliance through to relocation and induction to their new hospital.
The 5 Stages of International Nurse Onboarding
Stage 1: English Language Requirements (IELTS)
Applicants must achieve the required score in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), including a minimum score of 7.0 across all four components:
- Reading
- Writing
- Listening
- Speaking
Stage 2: Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Application
Once the English language requirement has been met, candidates begin the registration process with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), submitting all required documentation and qualifications for assessment.
Stage 3: NMC Competence Test
Candidates must successfully complete the NMC Test of Competence, demonstrating that their knowledge and skills meet UK nursing standards.
Stage 4: Skilled Worker (Travel) Visa Application
Following successful registration progress, our Australian, New Zealand and Canadian Nurses apply for their 3 Year Travel Visa allowing them to enter the UK and commence employment as a registered nurse.
Stage 5: OSCE Training and Examination
Upon arrival in the UK, candidates undertake Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) preparation and training before completing the final practical assessment required for full NMC registration.
Candidates must successfully pass the OSCE examination within the required timeframe to maintain their registration pathway and continue practising in the UK.
Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) Training
We are committed to delivering high-quality OSCE preparation programmes that maximise candidate success rates.
Our training programme consists of:
- 5 days of online learning and preparation
- 5 days of practical training and mock examinations at our training centre
- Comprehensive assessment support
- Individual feedback and exam readiness coaching
The OSCE is designed to assess a nurse’s ability to manage realistic clinical scenarios involving:
- Assessment of patient needs
- Care planning
- Implementation of care
- Evaluation of outcomes
- Professional communication and clinical decision-making
Following a successful OSCE result, we submit the necessary registration documentation within two business days to support rapid NMC registration.
